Get answers to common questions about Sew-In Hair Extensions.

With proper installation and maintenance, sew-in extensions typically last six to eight weeks. Longevity depends on hair growth, care routine, and activity level; timely touch-ups or removal prevent strain on natural hair and maintain a neat appearance.

Sew-ins are generally safe when installed by trained stylists; improper tension, tight braiding, or prolonged wear can cause breakage or thinning. We assess hair health, recommend appropriate tension, and provide guidance to minimize risk and protect your scalp.

Wash sew-ins every one to two weeks using sulfate-free shampoo and focus on cleansing the scalp. Condition mid-lengths to ends, avoiding heavy buildup at the roots. Dry thoroughly to prevent odor and maintain hair longevity.

You can exercise, but limit exposure to chlorinated or salt water. Wear a swim cap, braid or wrap hair before swimming, rinse and deep-condition afterward. Excessive water exposure can tangle wefts and shorten the wear time.

Sew-ins suit most hair types when natural hair is healthy and strong enough to hold braids. Coarser and textured hair often provides excellent grip; fine or fragile hair may require protective techniques or alternative extension methods.

Arrive with clean, detangled hair and a recent trim if needed; but avoid heavy oils or conditioners before installation. Maintain scalp health beforehand, and discuss color matching and length preferences with your stylist for best results.
